When I went to read it, I saw that chapters are done by dates and times as entries spanning December of 1999. As a treat, I decided I should wait and read it like an advent calendar of science fiction to the new year. Just barely started, but quite excited.

So, several months ago my partner and I were at a book store and I found a book by one of my favorite authors from when I was in elementary school. With a title Like Millenium: A Novel About People and Politics in the Year 1999, I was all too happy to grab it. (1/3)
It wasn't til later, at home, when I cracked it up and saw that it was copyrighted in 1976. That's 23 years before 1999. I'm reading it in 2022. That's 23 years AFTER 1999. How curious to be as far removed from 1999 as the author was in their imagining! (2/3)
