Everyone on the Grow a Garden team has given everything to this project... blood, sweat, tears, and then some.
Many of us have spent the past 8 years mastering our craft on Roblox, growing alongside Splitting Point every step of the way.
There’s no question this level of success wouldn’t be possible without this team.
I truly believe this is a defining moment for UGC and indie gaming. There's a growing gap between what AAA studios are delivering and what players are actually looking for.
My goal for the last 12months on Roblox has been to legitimize Roblox in the traditional game development industry.
Thank you to everyone for being apart of this moment in gaming history, Roblox History, and supporting our team 🤑🤑🤑
This weekend on Grow a Garden... we are going to set the world record for most people to Monster Mash at the same time.

5,000,000 Concurrent players.
On one Roblox game.
More than Fortnite, Counter Strike 2, Call of Duty & PUBG Combined. (As of live)
This platform just doesn't stop "growing" 🤯
👇 Here is the genius behind Grow a Garden.
Game not for you? Not every game is for me either - but you cannot ignore the carefully chosen game mechanics at work here. 👇
And although the first point is obvious, the rest are not so. Read the full post.
🪴 First, your garden progresses offline. Even first time players who don't like the game might just return to see where their starter garden has grown.
🪴 They didn't limit the game to gardens, they added pets that work offline too. You don't have to be tied down to your game's name. This adds a "cute" factor to the game, important for some audiences!
🪴 The game feels like Roblox. It's not something made in a lab by a large studio. You instantly know it's Roblox. This is important!
🪴 It's not just offline trickery. Although your save progresses while away, it pays better to be online too.
🪴 Get this. You've heard of cycling shop items daily or weekly? Their shop cycles every 5 minutes! Players think: I could leave, but what if I miss out on the next 5 minute drop?
🪴 Servers are SYNCED! A thunderstorm in your server? There's a thunderstorm in every server! These storms are rare and provide benefits to your garden too.
🪴 It's not just thunderstorms, there are other synced behaviors across servers that are critical to retaining players. All of these events keep you online to catch them.
🪴 This is already great great great game design... but what if you also dropped live content, with cinematic cutscenes, on Saturdays with a countdown timer? This gets your whole audience on at once.
🪴 Live updates have one more advantage here: The sooner you grab your seed, the sooner it can grow offline.
I only wrote all this because every game I see make a splash on Roblox, I also see ridicule for what they "deserve" - as if games should be judged by some emperor giving his approval or disapproval.
It's deeper than that.
Understanding these design choices will help you make the next big game on Roblox of your liking!
You don't achieve these record breaking numbers with bots. If that were true, everyone would game their numbers to 5M+ CCU.
Grow a Garden and others have proven Roblox is the future. This single game has more players online this morning than half of Steam as a platform! All boats on Roblox rise with games making splashes like these.
What are you waiting for? Get to it, Roblox Dev! 🔥
