🇵🇰🇦🇫 Pakistani air raids kill at least three civilians in Afghanistan
Pakistani air strikes hit three targets including a house in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Paktika provinces early Monday, killing at least three members of one family and injuring four in Kunar’s Nurgal district, according to Afghan officials; Pakistan’s information ministry claimed the strikes killed 28 “terrorists.”
The strikes came days after a Pakistani Taliban faction claimed a bombing at a mosque in a police facility in Kohat that killed at least 31 people, which Pakistan’s information ministry blamed on Afghanistan-based fighters. Following Saturday’s attack, Pakistan warned that it could strike targets inside Afghanistan.

A timely and insightful interview with @AnwarGargash for @AlMonitor, conducted by its accomplished editor @Joyce_Karam. Essential reading for understanding the UAE’s perspective on post-war Iran, UAE-Iran relations, UAE-Saudi clash, and the ongoing war in Yemen.
The Pakistan Afghanistan crisis will not end by blaming Afghanistan alone. Pakistan must also confront the failures within its own security and intelligence system.
The past two decades military operations were conducted in the tribal belt. Yet militants returned, reorganized and continued to operate. The public deserves answers:
Who failed to detect their return?
Who allowed militant networks to survive or re emerge?
Why were intelligence warnings ignored?
Who is accountable for repeated security failures?
What went wrong in the strategy of the past two decades?
