@BridsonLewis @ProfMikeTipton I think you’re right. If I hadn’t been a cardiac nurse before being an open water coach I wouldn’t have known those risks, even after doing any open water coach training. Not enough emphasis on arrhythmias, although rare occurrences but most devastating.

Please note this advice. Drownings increase when air temperature goes above 30C. It is a very dangerous time of year; the water is still cold enough to produce cold shock. Spread the word, lifesaving through education. #physiology
