Drake keeps rewriting the Billboard record books. 📈
Since debuting on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009 with “Best I Ever Had,” @Drake has built one of the most dominant chart runs in music history.
Over the years, he became the first artist ever to reach 100, 200, 300 — and now 400 career Hot 100 entries. He also owns records for the most top 2, top 3, top 5, top 10, top 20 and top 40 hits in Hot 100 history, along with the most No. 1 debuts ever.
As Drake’s 'ICEMAN' era continues dominating the charts, Billboard is breaking down every major Hot 100 record he’s broken and the milestones still left to chase: https://t.co/N7t3sWkzr4

A $50 annual fee vs 15% of your entire catalog’s revenue are not remotely comparable. One is a fixed cost. The other is a tax on your entire career. “Free to upload” is the okie doke. Fixed fees protect artists. Percentages drain artists.
If you make even $1,000 a year, 15% = $150
You’ve already paid damn near 3× the cost of any flat fee distributor
📺 Vuzu: Forever Young (2012-2016)
Reality TV often gets boxed as a genre tailored to women’s lifestyles and audiences. But when the format began taking off in South Africa, Vuzu disrupted the script with Forever Young.
imo the significance of Forever Young lies in how it reimagined Black masculinity for television, balancing ambition with playfulness, success with vulnerability. it expanded the visual grammar of South African television and reminded us that representation is not trivial. It is a cultural resource that can either reproduce stereotype or open new imaginaries.
The show was also an important archive of Black youth culture at the time. Shot across Johannesburg and even in Brazil, it reflected a generation’s mobility, global aspiration, and cultural experimentation. It placed young South African men within a cosmopolitan frame, positioning them as active participants in shaping entertainment and style both locally and abroad.
