Couldn’t #WesStreeting be quiet for another week? I used to think I might vote for him in a few years, but he most definitely would not get my vote now, and his current lack of judgement he won’t get it in the future. I would vote for Starmer in a contest with Streeting.
Big Downing St announcement tonight. Keir Starmer secures major jobs and energy investment at G7 to deliver growth and security at home
· £1.3 billion in new investment secured from leading companies in France and India to back clean energy and AI projects in the UK
· More than 1,400 new jobs to be created in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham
· Major new battery storage and clean power projects to boost energy security and help bring down bills for working people
EXCLUSIVE from @patrickkmaguire on our podcast The State of It:
* Sir Keir Starmer’s relationship with Ed Miliband has broken down to such an extent that the energy secretary has been accused of “ghosting” the prime minister in recent weeks
* Senior government sources claimed that Miliband declined to take calls from the prime minister during a tense stand-off over defence spending
* No 10 became increasingly concerned last week that Miliband could quit over the imposition of cuts on his department to fund defence spending
* The State of It, the political podcast by The Times and The Sunday Times, has been told that Starmer attempted to contact Miliband repeatedly but did not receive a response. He was said to have been “ghosted”
* This account was rejected by a source close to Miliband, who said that the pair did eventually speak and denied that Miliband declined to take the prime minister’s calls
* Multiple sources said that Starmer and Miliband were barely on speaking terms and that the prime minister was “furious” at what he regarded as the energy secretary’s “betrayal”
* @lara_spirit reveals that several cabinet ministers are weighing up whether to resign after the by-election in an attempt to force Starmer’s hand. Allies of Burnham suggested that Miliband was likely to be among them
* The prime minister is said to have become increasingly “entrenched” as he prepares to fight any challenge from Burnham. Starmer sees himself as a “servant of the country rather than the party” and allies said he was determined to resist a “coronation”
* An ally of Starmer said: ‘“It would be coup territory, it would profoundly undemocratic. We don’t really know what Burnham stands for or what he would do. Winning a by-election is very different to running the country. Win or lose, someone has to flush out his positions. Keir is becoming more entrenched’

The Equality Act was 2010. Farage has been a full-time pundit and politician for 16 years: only now does he describe it as “anti-white”.
So Reform is evolving: now deploying language of racial politics. A gamble, seeing UK has hitherto rejected this rhetoric.
@jruddy99@SkyNews@BethRigby And it was never going to happen before the end of the consultation.

Had a wonderful meeting with PM Keir Starmer in Evian. The last year has been outstanding as far as India-UK relations are concerned. The trade deal has opened many avenues of economic cooperation. Today’s talks focused on how to add even more momentum to India-UK ties.
@Keir_Starmer@G7
We discuss on this week’s @RestIsPolitics - @donaldtusk observed recently that he couldn’t understand how a Russian backed arson attack on a 🇬🇧 PM’s home and property was treated like “Arsenal 2 Liverpool 1,” just a run or the mill event. Fair play BBC for their investigation but generally the lack of interest and concern underlines systemic anti Labour bias across most of media, and with large elements of the right backing anything thought to be had for Starmer, even if (in some cases especially if) it aligns with Russia China or anyone else who might want to damage Britain. Putin has plenty of useful idiots here
Good discussion with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer.
Close EU–UK cooperation is essential for our shared European security, resilience, and prosperity. We are working closely together to make our upcoming second Summit in Brussels on 22 July a success.
I met with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer. The United Kingdom has taken new important decisions in support of Ukraine and introduced new sanctions steps against Russia’s shadow fleet. Thank you! All of this works towards peace.
I informed Keir about the consequences of the recent Russian strikes. We discussed the possible participation of the United Kingdom in the restoration of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the implementation of the agreements reached during today’s G7–Ukraine meeting, potential areas for further pressure on Russia, and steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
Thank you, Keir Starmer, for your unwavering support for our people.
Today I've agreed with @eucopresident that we will hold the second UK-EU summit on 22 July.
My Labour Government is delivering on our promise to reset our relationship and put Britain at the heart of Europe.
Together we will tackle the cost of living, boost jobs and create opportunities for young people.
