She's actually going with the argument that because only 3% is enough to start getting attempted decapitations in the streets you should be happy with going to 60% like other UK cities.
This statement really is beyond parody. There are so many examples, but this statement about the near-murder of their son/father etc contains the term 'our hospitality sector'
A very strange article. 6500 words about how the state is failing in its acquisition of accommodation for asylum seekers. Zero questioning of whether they ought to be here.
The author states that “the British state is an unfit host.” Then why is it taking in more guests?
This all falls into the notion that asylum seekers, and immigration more broadly, are a force of nature and not the result of choices. Many countries get fewer asylum seekers than we do. Many allow in fewer immigrants. They are not collapsing.
There is also a misdirection in the source of frustration. People are not angry about where the asylum seekers are housed. They care little whether it’s a hotel down the road or an HMO. It’s the fact they’re here at all and that time and time again we are exposed to stories of atrocities committed by them. The author seems entirely disconnected from the fact that these protests often occur immediately after a local community is shattered by an assault, rape, or murder.
There simply isn’t a way to reconcile this with reality. It feels like we’re not even living in the same country and experiencing the same things anymore. How can you see images of someone nearly getting beheaded in Belfast, hear of the murder of Rhiannon Whyte, or be exposed to the litany of stories of sexual assault from places like Bournemouth and pretend the fault lies with the manner in which the state is housing these people?
It seems they will never understand. They cannot be made to understand. So the best thing to do is to defeat them politically and ensure these malicious ideas become as anathema as talking about migration used to be.
Betting as a source of fun, or as a semi-serious vocation, is being destroyed in front of our eyes but they want to police work sweepstakes. It’s got to be a wind up?
Not once. Twice. Hampshire Police tried to smear Henry Nowak as the aggressor. Twice and here's the bit that makes it even worse.
They had a secret recording of Digwa in a police van two days after Henry died. Speaking Punjabi to his brother. Admitting he stabbed Henry. Discussing claiming self defence. Zero mention of racial abuse. Not one word.
They knew he was lying. They had his own words on tape.
First attemp, three days after his death. Statement read “it was reported two men had been assaulted by an unknown man.” Henry was the unknown man. Family complained. Statement changed.
Second attempt, police told the family their next update would again paint Henry as the initial aggressor. His family had to fight them a second time. While grieving their murdered son.
Then during the trial tried to silence the public entirely. Calling it disinformation. The CPS had to step in and stop them collapsing their own murder case.
They knew the truth. They had the tape. And still tried to bury Henry’s name. Twice.
Three officers still on active duty. Not suspended. Treated as witnesses. To their own actions.
Protests in Southampton tonight. Do NOT give the state ANY excuse to throw you in prison. Because they will use anything.
I know people are angry. I am angry. But do not throw your life away doing something you will later regret.
The police need to treat protestors fairly, and any unacceptable behaviour by any officers must be recorded and called out.
But I will say this again.
Do not get violent.
That is not how we win.
We win at the ballot box, peacefully and democratically.
We win by electing Restore Britain across our country.
It's the only way.
🚨NEW: Iceland founder, Sir Malcolm Walker, has come out to say 'two-tier policing exists,' as he reveals police rushed to one of his stores 3-minutes after a phoney accusation of racism, but didn't attend when staff were seriously hurt or threatened with violence by shoplifters
@jamesaknight Simply limiting the rule to a stalls malfunction is the only way it is possibly governable. Plenty of Cheltenham races have gone forward with disgraceful starts without a peep from Holborn
@jamesaknight They could take a 3rd line. Which would be honest. The sport is so fucked we now take our orders from Hong Kong. There is no alternative position we can take.
Don't call us mean words for taking our orders from the HKJC. Yesterday was a more calamitous farce than *that* National. Vested interests ensured the fav was declared a non runner. It was almost admitted on RTV yesterday!
It is completely understandable that decisions taken by BHA officials may prompt passionate debate and be subject to robust scrutiny.
This is the nature of elite sport and something we do not shy away from.
However, we will never accept vile and unacceptable abuse directed towards BHA officials. This is a growing problem, especially on social media.
Some of the recent commentary under our posts is simply appalling. Everyone involved in British racing deserves to be treated with respect.
