Hi all, and welcome to the official account for Imperium42 and my works! I'll be using this account for progress updates on Entropy, Rhapsody in Green, and any other stories I'm working on, as well as commentary on My Hero Academia and other manga/anime.
Anyway, we're back on the writing grind, and while I have summer plans in June-July, the month of May is basically free and clear for writing.
I'm going to be working hard to pick up where I left off and hopefully undo the tangled narrative knot I've created. Wish me luck!
Guess who just finished his first year of grad school + his spring semester job and finally has free time to write again?
(and who also just got access to this account back after accidentally locking myself out again for the past ~6 months)
A brief catch-up๐งตabout my absence:
I also felt a jolt of inspiration recently when Chainsaw Man, one of my all time favorite manga, had a... *suboptimal* ending, which part of me does want to rewrite.
Fujimoto is one of those writers where I feel like I could never truly do his creative insanity justice, though.
At the current point in the story, do you think the heroes should stick with Kengen and the HPSC or quit and fight the war on their own? Or maybe find some sort of middle ground compromise in between those two choices? Let me know what you think.
I've gotten a lot of questions like this in my comments throughout the current arc, and usually I think it leads to compelling discussions, because it's a thematically complex issue with a lot of real world parallels.
What do you think? Poll in the tweet below --> (1/2)
Pictured: Me last night, working on one of the most emotionally wrenching scenes in the entire story in a bar at 2am while drinking a Paloma
(Progress is happening despite perpetual obstacles, getting closer and closer to completion every week)
@BiasiniPaolo Both great questions that I have to admit I haven't considered in detail ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ I'd need to sit down and seriously think about the mechanics if it ever became relevant to the story
My first instinct is that Shinso's quirk would be able to override the Baku, but not affect the user
Started binging Severance after years of putting it off and goddamn, what a good show.
It's definitely gotten the most instances of me yelling at my TV out of any show in years. Also makes me want to do more fun memory stuff with Shinso's quirk and/or Baku chips
@OneTruAlpharius Yeah, writing for Momo is enjoyable because of the possibilities but also tough because I know there's almost always going to be another cool thing she could've done that didn't occur to me
Mfw I liked a few memes from the Invincible S3 finale and now the algorithm is trying its hardest to spoil me on the comics ๐ญ
Here, have an Entropy/Invincible meme, though
Mfw I'm currently writing a scene where a character wakes up from being sedated in a car, and all I can think of is this
Torn between committing to the meme and holding back so I don't ruin the dramatic tension for anyone
Picked up the perfect tea while traveling to sip while writing scenes for Pandora and Gentle โ๏ธ
The latter's scenes for this chapter are essentially the last big thing I need to finish before I'm ready to publish, but hopefully they'll go fast since I really enjoy writing him https://t.co/HFJTairc4k
Mfw writing at my favorite cafe/bar rn and one of the employees (who I'm friendly with) came up behind me, asked me what I'm working on, and leaned down to look straight at my screen
(I just panic minimized the word doc as quickly as possible, but this is what I felt like doing)
@KacperN04346762 Ah yes, the 40 page word doc for Ch. 38 on my laptop is definitely super dead.
Unlike GRRM, I don't have the luxury of writing being my full-time job. Life gets busy and I have plenty of other shit happening
Thanks for the motivation to finish even sooner out of spite, though
Tfw you finally come up with an elegant narrative/character-driven solution for a problem with a scene you've been stuck on for a month
(It involves this guy, but probably not in the type of context you'd expect)
