What happened to Charlie Kirk is unconscionable, but it was literally a few months ago that two Democratic state legislators were gunned down by a right wing activist. Let’s not pretend this is one-sided
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on today’s ruling: “We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job.”

BREAKING: The New York Times reports that U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, say the Venezuelan boat Trump ordered bombed appeared to be turning away at the moment of the strike. In other words, it was retreating.
That movement undercuts any claim the vessel posed a threat. Under the UN Law of the Sea (UNCLOS Article 19), ships are entitled to innocent passage so long as they don’t endanger a coastal state’s peace or security. Turning away is the clearest signal of non-aggression.
So why were 11 people killed? For what? Sailing home?
News just broke that the Venezuelan boat that Trump struck was not, in fact, headed to the U.S. with drugs.
But this story is disturbing for other reasons, and you need to know why. It's another sign of Trump's growing lawlessness. And it's bad counter-narcotics strategy.
One year ago, Kamala Harris predicted Putin would attack Poland and "eat [Trump] for lunch."
Today, Poland is shooting down Russian drones.
She was right. He was weak.
Sen. Ruben Gallego: "Ashli Babbitt was a traitor. She was a traitor to this country. She was part of a violent mob that tried to overthrow our democracy...She didn't die protecting our country. She died trying to turn it down...She wasn't a martyr. She was and is a traitor."
Iceland is the world’s biggest consumer of SSRIs. They’ve had less than 10 gun homicides since 2020; in the US, there have been over 90,000.
Japan is one of the largest video game markets in the world. They have 10 gun deaths per year; the US has nearly 50,000.
It’s the guns.
Breaking; President Donald Trump has declined Georgia's request to extend the deadline for federal disaster assistance applications related to Hurricane Helene.
Georgia House Speaker Jon Burns and Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper had urged the president to consider an extension, citing ongoing recovery challenges. #HurricaneHelene, which struck the Southeast last September, caused an estimated $5.5 billion in damage to Georgia’s agriculture and forestry sectors alone. #gapol
"Judges are putting injunctions and holds on things, but what happens if there's a definitive ruling and Trump just decides, 'I don't care?' Then we will be in a crisis," Jonathan Capehart says. "We are edging there very quickly, I think." https://t.co/IBWGtGiKwI
President Trump just fired:
• 90 physicians
• 350 nurses
• at least 25 nurse practitioners
• nearly 20 dentists
• 85+ pharmacists
• 45 lab techs
All employed by the Indian Health Service to provide health care. This is going to have dangerous consequences for our Indigenous brothers and sisters.

So you're telling me that JD Vance gave a fiery speech thrashing entire Europe over the lack of democracy and freedom of speech two days after the White House revoked the Associated Press’ accreditation for failing to obey and use “Gulf of America” in their reporting?
Ogaaaaaaaaaay.
Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.
