If you think about it, the real issue with sharing files online isn’t just security, it’s control, because the moment you upload something valuable you either expose it so people can see what they’re buying or hide it and hope they trust you, and that’s the gap @VertexPrivacy is trying to fix by creating a system where files can be shared and sold without ever being exposed upfront, the process is simple but powerful:

•you encrypt your file on your own device first

•upload only the locked (encrypted) version

•anyone can verify the file exists and hasn’t been tampered with (without seeing it)

•once payment/conditions are met, access is granted via a decryption key

•access is controlled by code, not the platform

•transactions and access logic are on-chain (transparent + trustless)

so you’re no longer choosing between privacy and monetization, you get both at the same time, and that opens up real use cases like selling digital products, private research, alpha, or any sensitive content without risking leaks or “blind faith” situations, which is why the idea is simple on the surface but actually addresses one of the biggest problems in how value is exchanged online today.
