The 28-Day тАЬMonthlyтАЭ Recharge SCAM.
I raised this in Parliament today.
Telecom companies call their plans тАЬmonthlyтАЭ тАФ but they last only 28 days.
That means prepaid users pay for 13 recharges in a year instead of 12.
28 days ├Ч 13 recharges = 364 days
If itтАЩs monthly, it should follow the actual calendar month.
Consumers deserve better. Not these clever tricks.
NH46, NH30, NH19, NH49...
Every day you wake up, a new NH is in the news for construction quality issues, and that too usually within months of being built. Shri @nitin_gadkari, please give petrol a break from ethanol and sort out your dept first.
Shri @nitin_gadkari,
You don't give direct answers to direct questions, instead, you deflect with lines like тАЬmere against hitjob haiтАЭ or тАЬpaid propaganda haiтАЭ to media channels.
Again asking a few direct questions. If you can answer these satisfactorily, directly, through media, or even via your influencer campaigns, promise I wonтАЩt raise E20 petrol issue again.
1. Why fast-track E20? The original plan was to implement E20 by 2030. That timeline made sense because, by then, most vehicles on Indian roads would be E20-compliant. Accelerating it so quickly is like launching 6G services when no 6G phones exist yet. This is not like polio eradication, where early achievement deserves praise. There was no pressing reason to push it ahead of schedule. Even NITI Aayog had reservations about rushing it.
2. You said thereтАЩs no car damage due to ethanol blending тАЬworld over.тАЭ ThatтАЩs because other countries match fuels with compatible vehicles. Brazil rolled out E20тАУ30 only after most vehicles became compliant and still offered E0тАУE10 for older ones. E20 cars on E20 are safe; non-E20 cars, which form the majority in India, are not. India is probably the only country that created this mismatch. If E-20 doesn't damage the non-compliant cars, like you claim, why is there even need for E-20 complaint cars then?
3. Why hasnтАЩt fuel price reduced as you promised? Instead, mileage has gone down, so people are paying more for the same distance.
To summarise, we have no issue with E20 itself, only with how it was implemented. Please answer these questions. And no, saying тАЬwe did it for the benefit of farmersтАЭ is not an answer. If you want to help farmers, do it through your budget, people are already paying enough taxes for that, donтАЩt cut into ordinary citizensтАЩ pockets or damage their vehicles. "To become self reliant fast" is also not an answer. In that case, non compatible vehicles given E5-10 option would not have stopped you from becoming self-reliant. If you canтАЩt answer, at least donтАЩt call us paid propagandists. You are one of the most powerful ministers; if you truly believe this is a paid hit job, then investigate and prove it. WhoтАЩs stopping you?
MP police has arrested Dr Pravin Soni, a pediatrician accused of prescribing the contaminated Coldrif syrup that killed 11 children, charging him with culpable homicide.
Once again, the system is targeting the smallest and most visible link instead of examining institutional failure. How can a doctor be held responsible for a drug that was approved by the authorities, manufactured legally, supplied through govt channels, and stocked in licensed pharmacies?
If tomorrow a doctor prescribes a standard medicine like Paracetamol and that batch turns out to be contaminated, will the doctor be blamed for that too? That logic is absurd.
Accountability lies with the manufacturer, drug regulators (CDSCO, state FDA), supply authorities, and quality-control systems. Doctors have no role in formulation, testing, or distribution.
Now, if Dr Pravin Soni was violating service rules by doing private practice as a govt doctor, that is a separate issue and must be investigated. If he was prescribing a lesser-known drug due to financial incentives from the pharma company, that should also be probed. Those are valid grounds for disciplinary or legal action.
But making him the face of the tragedy and shielding the govt machinery responsible for the contaminated drug is nothing but scapegoating. I have no sympathy for the doctor personally, but using him as a substitute for real accountability is not justice.
