“Hell no!” — That’s what residents in Festus, Missouri chanted after city leaders approved a massive $6 billion AI data center with almost zero transparency.

Now the town has erupted with a lawsuit against the city and a recall petition against the mayor.

Voter turnout reportedly exploded by 129% — and every single city council member who voted yes got wiped out on election night.

A town of about 14,000 people just sent a very loud message: don’t try to ram through a $6 billion project behind their backs.

The Haunting Sins of Herod

Mark 6:16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.�
17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.

Herod was truly haunted by his sins. Unrepentant sin has a truly haunting aspect. In this Herod believed that John the Baptist came back from the dead and that he came in the form of Jesus
This was no doubt superstitious . It was from a mind that was haunted by guilt. Guilt lays hard upon the soul of a man. Guilt has a haunting aspect and can cause paranoia . Sin when it heaps in the soul and upon the soul is a crushing weight. John the Baptist had not risen from the dead his message had never died .

14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

The mighty works is the same message. Jesus had the same message as John and that was repent. Herod thought that if John was dead the message died with John but you may kill the messenger but the message lives on and it cannot die. He thought that John had risen from the dead but it was truly Herods sin that found him out. Sin haunted him and would not quiet in his soul but Johns blood cried out from the earth. And Because John was filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother’s womb and because Jesus is God manifest in the flesh the Spirit of the message was the exact same.

Herod was haunted by what he did to John. But Herod repented not of his fornication and his sins so he would die a haunted man. The lesson for you and I in this is that except ye repent you shall all likewise perish. Attempting to suppress the truth and hide sin will do us no good, we must repent and believe the gospel.

Herod rejected the message and killed the messenger but the message lived on and cannot be killed because it is eternal. Truth never dies. God was merciful to Herod to shew him the ministry of Jesus but that fox would not repent and died and in hell he lifts up his eyes in torment , he is still haunted today in hell for beheading John the Baptists .

No man has to die haunted by his sin , Repent and believe the gospel , and you can be delivered from the haunting aspects of sin .
