It wasn’t as though he felt much comfort at home anyway.

@vcantfixme Mickey felt a sharp pang of hurt when Ian snapped at him. Everyone had warned him this would happen—repeatedly—but he’d brushed it off. Even now, as the words stung, he tried to push the feeling aside.

@vcantfixme "Shut up," was all he could manage, though inside, he felt like punching walls in sheer frustration. But he knew none of that would help. Fiona and Lip had warned him, but nothing could have prepared him for the icy death stare, the way he was being pushed away effortlessly.

@vcantfixme He nearly held his breath. This wasn't like the Ian he knew. He continued staring at the stranger, at the empty dead look in his eyes, but despite all that, he knew his heart beats for this person.

@vcantfixme Mickey stared at him, struggling to find the right words, even though the answer was as simple as it could be: he loved Ian.

"I'm helping out Fiona," he lied, before adding, "And... checking up on you."

@vcantfixme "My home is here now," he said, trying to sound more confident, forcing his voice to stay firm, hiding any trace of softness or fear. He didn’t care about Svetlana or his son. All he wanted was to be here.

"Fiona left some food for you," he added.

@vcantfixme "You need to eat..." he murmured, glancing at the glass of water that still sat untouched.

He felt hopeless. He had never had someone like Ian in his life, but the Gallaghers seemed to know already.

Mickey felt like he was the only one panicking. Alone. Scared.

@vcantfixme Mickey froze, unsure if it was the unfamiliar situation or the overwhelming fear of losing Ian that made him so sensitive. He didn’t listen, instead walking slowly toward the side of the bed where Ian slept.

@vcantfixme He entered the room, falling into the familiar habit even though he knew it might be for nothing. Ian slept most of the time, but this time, Mickey noticed he was awake.

"Ian?"

@vcantfixme It had been days since Ian had lain in the room like this, and Mickey was growing desperate. He basically moved to Gallagher's house by now, he couldn’t bring himself to go home—he wanted to stay for Ian. What if he needed him?

@vcantfixme But one more smile like that and I’m punching your face," he tried to sound tough, but his lips betrayed him, breaking into a smile.

Ian had him wrapped around his finger.

If only he could let go of this particular Gallavich, his life might have been less of a mess. He found himself wandering into that one place where Ian might be. Entering the noisy club, he felt uneasy. A few male eyes turned toward him, making his skin crawl.

@vcantfixme Mickey glared at him in response to those words. It was incredible how much anger could be packed into his frame.

"I... don’t..." he grunted. "But I want to do things with you. If those assholes can do it, so can I. This is our night.

@vcantfixme "I missed you too. You have no idea," he said, his voice sincere and eyes reflecting the truth of his words. To prove it, he kissed Ian again. But only shortly this time.

"How about one more drink and then we dance? I can't even remember the last time I did that..."

@vcantfixme Mickey hated hearing that. He knew it was a way to make money and Ian was incredibly handsome, but... damn, he really didn’t want to entertain those thoughts.

@vcantfixme A few guys were eyeing Ian, envious of the attention Mickey was getting, but most were too absorbed in their own conversations to notice.

In this club, everyone was free.

"Yeah... I..." He glanced around. No one seemed to be watching.
