No U.S. state enforces Sharia law as governing law.

The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and it always takes precedence.

That said, as of 2026 roughly a dozen states including Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, and Tennessee have passed “American Laws for American Courts” (ALAC) or similar foreign-law bans.

These measures prevent state courts from applying any foreign, international, or religious rules.

If these states can do it so can the rest.
