Chakwera attributed the shortage to the draining forex reserves.

Kunje sentenced to 18 months in prison

Mera speaks on fuel scarcity
The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) says it will soon explain the reasons for the current fuel shortages currently being experienced in the country and that most fuel stations will be replenished by close of business on Monday.
MERA Public Relations Officer Fitina Khonje told The Independent Digest on Monday that the organisation will communicate to the general public the main cause of the scarcity.
