The India Trek 2026 group began the first evening in Mumbai with a tour of the historic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel; one of India’s most iconic hotels, known for its heritage architecture and significance in Mumbai’s hospitality legacy. We then visited the Gateway of India, a landmark built in 1924 to commemorate the visit of King George V, and today a symbol of the city’s colonial history and waterfront identity.

The India Trek 2026 group spent an afternoon in Old Delhi, beginning with lunch at Haveli Dharampura — the beautifully restored 19th-century haveli that reflects the grace of Mughal-era living.
After lunch, we set out on rickshaws through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk. Weaving past spice markets fragrant with masalas, colourful wedding bazaars, old jewellery shops, and street vendors, the experience offered an authentic glimpse into the rhythm of Purani Dilli; where history, commerce, faith, and everyday life continue to coexist seamlessly.

On a crisp January morning, the India Trek 2026 group began the day at India Gate and the National War Memorial in the capital. Walking through the memorial complex, the group learned about the history and symbolism behind the Amar Jawan Jyoti, the Param Yodha Sthal, and the names inscribed in honour of soldiers who laid down their lives in various wars and operations.
The visit also coincided with visible preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
