What If a Temple Pond Could Help Save a Species?

In Assam’s Biswanath district, an ancient temple is quietly leading a conservation revolution.

With no fences or fanfare, the Nagshankar temple has become a safe haven for 13 freshwater turtle species, including some that were once thought extinct in the wild.

Thanks to the temple’s sacred pond, local turtle guardians, and the powerful blend of faith and ecology, these gentle scavengers are making a comeback.

शारदा नहर, अंचली खेड़ा गांव, लखनऊ में फंसी गँगा नदी डॉल्फिन के एक पूरे परिवार (6 सदस्यीय पोड) को आज एक सफल संयुक्त अभियान में सुरक्षित निकालकर घाघरा (सरयू) नदी, बहर���इच में वापस छोड़ा गया।

24 घंटे की निगरानी, रिहर्सल, रात भर की ऑन-साइट कैंपिंग और 12 घंटे के ज़मीन पर चले ऑपरेशन में 2 माँ-बच्चों की जोड़ी समेत सभी डॉल्फिन को सूरज निकलने से पहले सावधानी से सुरक्षित स्थान तक पहुँचाया गया। यह अब तक का भारत में सबसे बड़ा सफल गंगा डॉल्फिन रेस्क्यू है!

गँगा डॉल्फिन हमारे नदियों की पहचान हैं। इनका संरक्ष�� हम सभी की साझी जिम्मेदारी है। बचाइए, बताइए और अपने आस-पास सभी लोगों को सतर्क कीजिए – हर जीवन कीमती है।
