You can open a Chase business checking account with $2000 and get automatically pre-approved for $50,000 in Chase business credit 30 days later because Chase's algorithm gives preferential treatment to existing banking customers and nobody talks about this
The approval rate for Chase Ink cards for people with an existing Chase business checking account is dramatically higher than for cold applicants. The bank's internal data shows that customers with a banking relationship are lower risk because they can see your deposits, your cash flow, and your account activity in real time
This is called a "banking relationship bonus" and it's the single most overlooked cheat code in the business credit game
Here's how to exploit it at every bank simultaneously:
Day 1: Open a business checking account at Chase. Walk in with your LLC paperwork and EIN. Deposit $5000. Takes 30 minutes. (If you don't have an LLC, form one on your state's website for $50 to $200 in 10 minutes. Get an EIN from irs .gov in 5 minutes. Free)
Day 1: Open a business checking at Bank of America. Same LLC paperwork. Same EIN. Deposit $500-2k
Day 2: Open a business checking at Wells Fargo. Deposit $500-2k
Day 3: Open a business checking at US Bank. Deposit $500-2k
Total invested: $2000-5000 across 4 banks. This is not money you're spending. It's sitting in checking accounts earning nothing. It's bait
For 30 days, run normal business transactions through these accounts. Direct deposit from clients. Pay a few invoices. Buy supplies. Move money in and out. You're building what banks call "account activity" which is the signal their algorithms use to determine how much they trust you
Day 30: Apply for Chase Ink Business Unlimited. The Chase system sees: existing customer, 30 days of deposits, active account, clean personal credit. The algorithm gives you a higher credit line and higher approval probability than an identical applicant who doesn't bank with Chase
A cold Chase application with a 720 score: typical limit $15K to $30K
A relationship Chase application with a 720 score + 30 days of banking history: typical limit $25K to $50K
Same score. Same person. $10K to $20K higher limit because you deposited $500 in a checking account 30 days earlier
Day 32: Apply for Bank of America Business Advantage. Same thing. BofA's system sees an existing business checking customer. Preferential treatment
Day 34: Apply for Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash. Same relationship bonus
Day 36: Apply for US Bank Triple Cash. Same play
You deposited $500 at each bank. 30 days later each bank is treating you like a valued existing customer instead of a stranger off the street. The credit limits are 30 to 60% higher across the board
Results from a client who ran this exact sequence:
Without banking relationships (cold applications):
Chase: $20,000
BofA: $25,000
Wells: $15,000
US Bank: $20,000
Total: $80,000
Same person, same score, WITH banking relationships (30 days of checking first):
Chase: $45,000
BofA: $50,000
Wells: $30,000
US Bank: $35,000
Total: $160,000
$80,000 more in total credit. Because he deposited $2,000 in checking accounts a month before applying. The $2,000 was never spent. He withdrew it all after the cards were approved
The cost of the extra $80K in credit: $0 (the $2,000 was a deposit, not an expense, and he got it back)
But the relationship hack goes even deeper at Chase specifically
Chase has a program called "Chase Private Client" that you qualify for with $150,000 in combined deposits and investments. But they also have "Chase Business Complete Banking" which gives you enhanced business credit access with just $2,000 in average daily balance
If you keep $2,000 sitting in the Chase business checking for 30 days, you qualify for their enhanced business banking tier. This tier gets flagged in their credit card underwriting as "established business banking customer" and the approval algorithm treats you differently
A Chase loan officer once told a client of ours (off the record): "if you have a business checking with us I can basically guarantee the Ink approval. The system loves existing customers. Cold applicants with the same score get denied all the time"
The banks built these systems to reward loyalty. You're not being loyal. You're depositing $500, waiting 30 days, and extracting $50K in 0% credit. The "loyalty" costs you a 30-day wait and a deposit you get back
Here's the optimal sequence for maximum total credit:
Week 1: Open business checking at Chase ($500), BofA ($500), Wells ($500), US Bank ($500)
Week 1-4: Run normal transactions through all 4 accounts. Deposit income. Pay bills. Move money. Create activity
Week 5: Apply for Chase Ink Business Unlimited + Ink Business Cash (same day, both relationship-boosted)
Week 6: Apply for BofA Business Advantage (relationship-boosted)
Week 6: Apply for Amex Blue Business Plus (Amex doesn't use banking relationships the same way but they soft-pull existing cardholders, so apply here mid-sequence)
Week 7: Apply for Wells Fargo Signify (relationship-boosted)
Week 7: Apply for US Bank Triple Cash (relationship-boosted)
Week 8: Apply for Capital One Spark (no relationship hack but pulls TransUnion which is clean by now)
Total expected with relationship bonuses and a 720+ score: $200K to $320K
Total expected WITHOUT the banking relationship setup: $120K to $200K
The 30-day checking account setup adds $80K to $120K in additional credit capacity. For $2,000 in refundable deposits
every credit card application guide on the internet tells you to "apply to the right banks in the right order." nobody mentions that depositing $500 in a checking account 30 days before applying increases your limit by 30 to 60% at that same bank. because the youtube gurus never actually worked in banking. the relationship bonus is in every bank's underwriting documentation and none of them advertise it because they'd rather give you $20K than $50K lmfaooo
(we get 700+ score business owners $100K-$250K in 0% business funding. the banking relationship setup is step 1 of every capital stack we build. link in bio)
