The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat
The moment @byJoka made HISTORY by winning the #BaazGauntlet and becoming the only international EVER to win a Tekken tournament in Pakistan ๐๐ฅ
Baaz Gauntlet: The Movie powered by @qanbausa is OUT NOW! ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฟ

Iโve got a personal bias against coaching, in TWT LCQ in Amsterdam I beat a guy 2-0 in the first game and he asked me so I coached him on how to beat the options I was abusing etc. Then they restarted the bracket due to an error and he beat me 2-0 ๐ญ๐ญ get that coaching out pls๐ญ
I have a free hour and a few more days of Twitter Blue so brace yourselves gamers, I'm Haradatweeting the full anti coaching position:
If you have two dudes and you want to determine who's better at Tekken, you make them play and let the video game decide who's skills are more valuable.
But there's an instant problem after the game declares one person a winner...nobody's satisfied. If it's just one game, it can't be a true test of skill. So we make them play more.
Ignoring the initial declared "winner" of the game, we come up with a format that satisfies our idea of the more skilled player (the better player should win consistently) while *mostly* letting the game decide.
In this format, the player who wins the most is not only the one who opens up the strongest, but the one who determined if a strong opener allows them to collect the proper information, hide the correct information, if they have the skills to make the adjustments, read patterns from their opponents, etc (the list goes on FGs are mad deep).
We let the FT2/FT3 between the two players determine who has the best skills of play and adaptability and it resolve to a competitively satisfying end.
When you introduce a 3rd party after the mind games have already initiated (between games), they are fundamentally changing the skills required to win the set in ways that we can only speculate.
Some players are more receptive to coaching, some players have a playstyle built around mind games, some players have a playstyle built around being braindead but sharp and can now get assistance with the brain part.
The value on skills and strategies built around pattern recognition and adapting shifts around based on the communication skills and observations of both the 3rd party and player himself.
All of this would be competitively fine, if the game was marked as 2v2. We could say X team is better than Y team (like hand and brain Chess) and call that the competitive standard.
But all the bracket shows is one player winning over the other and coaches are not designated, it's supposedly a 1v1. So the ruleset should reflect that.
Make his finest asset yours

@bananatkk@CapSilverFox Iโm going to be honest, getting a bit of an upset stomach is unavoidable if you truly want to enjoy all the different kinds of food, however when you arrive in Pakistan, eat half a raw onion locally. This should help settle your stomach early on.
I have no words. Voice is gone. #BaazGauntlet was a dream. I love you all for the love you show me. I think I still have a lot of work to do before I'm worthy of this kind of praise, but you best believe I'll keep working on my craft.
