Yesterday we lost our precious Baby Michael. While we are sad and hurting deeply, we still find Joy in the Lord. He is good.

This little one was never in pain, never sinned — he only ever knew love. All 10 Schilling siblings came together to surround Aaron and Kiki and their beautiful family with support.

This is our family’s second experience of a “happy death.” Our father passed surrounded by all 10 of us, praying and thanking God out loud for him.

Death was never part of God’s original plan, but He shows mercy and brings good from it. All 10 siblings were able to show love and support for this baby and his parents in his final moments.

The term “happy death” may sound strange — how can death be happy? It comes from St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, who tradition teaches had the first happy death: passing in the physical arms of Jesus and Mary.

We don’t know anything closer to that than being surrounded by those who love you most.

We are so grateful. Our family, friends, and even strangers stepped up and raised nearly $25,000 through the GoFundMe to help Aaron and Kiki through this time. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We love you.
