#ZoholicsUSA2026 was extra impressionable this year for me. I didn’t host a large roomful of media and analysts. I didn’t create a track to showcase our latest, greatest, and beyond. Yet, this Zoholics was gave me more optimism. We read so much about #AI race and how x customer built y and gained z in xx time. In reality, most businesses aren’t there, and they’re looking for partners not just apps and agents menu, to help them build what they need, in their pace and on their terms. That’s what @Zoho can do. I am grateful for what we do.
As #ZoholicsUSA2026 winds down, @Zoho Head of Revenue Ricky Thakrar reflects on the shift in energy this year as conversations moved away from hype, to focus on collaboration and crafting solutions alongside customers and partners.

Reuters reported this week that @AnthropicAI is exploring building its own AI chips.
The plans are early. No design, no dedicated team. May not happen at all.
That is not the story.
The story is why a company at $30 billion in annualized revenue is even having this conversation. Inference costs scale with every customer you add. If you do not control that cost layer, someone else does.
I was at #ZohoDay26 in February. Zoho has been building and running its own server infrastructure for years across 16 owned data centers globally.
They built their own large language model so customer data stays inside their stack. Their explicit position: they are not a compute vendor and they will not pass GPU costs to customers.
That looked like frugality when they did it. It looks like strategy now.
Most software companies cannot replicate what Zoho built. It took years of patient private capital and a founder willing to build data centers all over the world rather than rent from hyperscalers.
But the question every software buyer should ask their vendor right now: how are you pricing AI features two years from now, and what happens to that price when your GPU bill triples?
