Lufthansa has just announced the purchase of 22 state-of-the-art long-haul aircraft:
- 10 Airbus A350-1000
- 5 additional Airbus A350-900
- 7 additional Boeing 787-9 "Dreamliner"
The aircraft are to be delivered to the Lufthansa Group from 2025 onwards.
#Lufthansa will reactivate 4 A380 for the Munich (MUC) hub this summer.
However, Lufthansa announced that the 10 A350-1000 (ordered yesterday) will be based in Munich and will gradually replace the A380. The A380's release date will depend on the speed of delivery of the 777X.
The #Allegris product will be introduced for the first time on the Boeing 787-9 before the end of 2023, and on the Airbus A350-900 in 2024 (with the new First Class).

#Lufthansa is reportedly considering reactivating 8 #A380, including 4 for summer 2023. In addition, Lufthansa no longer sees the reactivation of the A380 as a purely transient. The planes might receive the brand new #LufthansaAllegris product over the next few years.
"I'm back!" As we all know, you always meet twice in life ... and in this case, hopefully very much more often. On Friday, after more than 900 days, @lufthansa's A380 with the registration D-AIMK returns from retirement to get in shape during the upcoming maintenance work at FRA.
D-AIMK (#Lufthansa A380-841) is the 1st LH #A380 to be reactivated for summer 2023. It just arrived in #Frankfurt (FRA) after more than two years of storage in #Teruel (TEV). The aircraft will remain in maintenance in FRA before flying to Manila for major inspections. #DAIMK
