Every year SAMFCO hosts the Noche de Amistad Gala to raise funds and celebrate the friendship between San Antonio and Mexico. 🤝

The funds raised are used to grant scholarships and organize cultural and civic events that deepen the links between both communities. 🇲🇽🇺🇸

The Ohtli Award is the Mexican government’s highest honor for a Mexican national who has worked forging a new path abroad for their countrymen and women. 🏅🇲🇽

"Ohtli" is the Nahuatl for path and alludes to the idea of opening paths for others. 🛤️

Every year, SAMFCO hosts the "Noche de Amistad" gala to raise funds to finance scholarships and cultural events. Both, the Othli and the Amistad awards are granted at this event. 🏅🇲🇽

#SAMFCO works to deepen and promote the friendship between Mexico and San Antonio. With that purpose, since 2000, the council gives the #AMISTADAWARD 🏆 to recognize individuals or organizations that have managed to strenghten the ties among both communities.

#SAMFCO supports a wide array of activities coordinated by @ConsulMexSA and @mexcultureSA, and also provides scholarships for undergraduate students of Mexican origin in the San Antonio area.
In 2018, we were able to grant $170,000 USD in scholarships for 70 students.👩🏽‍🎓👨🏽‍🎓

In 2018, the council managed to gather more that 20,000 people to celebrate and learn about the ties between #Mexico and #San Antonio. 🙌🏼
