Today, we remember Alan Turing, who died on 7 June 1954.
A mathematician, codebreaker and pioneer of modern computing, Turing's work helped shorten the Second World War and laid the foundations for technologies that shape our lives today.
For decades, his achievements went largely unrecognised, and he faced profound personal challenges because of who he was. Yet his contribution to science, innovation and society remains extraordinary.
On the anniversary of his death, we honour a man whose ideas changed the world and whose legacy continues to inspire generations of thinkers, problem-solvers and innovators.

The ultimate betrayal 😡.
Henry is a 13-year-old Labrador who had been with his owner since he was a puppy. But one evening in Vancouver, Washington, that lifelong bond was shattered.
At a local park, Henry’s owner let him out of the car as if they were going for a walk. Then, after removing his collar and ID, she led him toward a trailhead ~ before suddenly turning back, getting into her car, and driving away. Confused and loyal, Henry stayed behind, waiting for her to return.
The heartbreaking moment was captured on a neighbor’s surveillance camera prompting Good Samaritans to call police. As Henry waited, he was eventually brought to a local shelter, Humane Society of Southwest Washington, where he remained safe while authorities investigated the case.
The video quickly spread online, leading to a wave of tips that helped identify the owner and her vehicle. These tips led Animal Control officers to Maria Bruce, 63, of Portland, Oregon.
While she later claimed she felt she had no other options, rescuers strongly disagreed—especially after learning she had reportedly told others Henry had died, while he was still waiting for her.
I Paw’d It Forward, the rescue that spearheaded the search, wrote on Facebook. “She drove her lovely Tesla to the meeting so she could cry her fake tears and make up her fake story. She did finally admit it, but she really had no choice. I Have ZERO EMPATHY FOR HER. Less than zero even.”
Authorities confirmed that abandonment is considered animal cruelty, and she was cited by prosecutors.
And Henry? He’s no longer waiting alone. He found a forever family who will love him for the rest of his life.
Henry’s story is a painful reminder—but also an important one. No matter how difficult circumstances may be, there are always better options. Shelters, rescues, and community resources exist to help both pets and their people.
And this is also a good reminder that sharing stories like these does lead to answers, to justice, to brighter futures for vulnerable dogs. Every tap to like, share and comment matters in the world of social media. Support organisations and pages that share important stories and help them amplify their voices so their messages can be seen.
What began as a moment of betrayal became something else entirely: proof that even when one person walks away, a whole community can step in with love. And now, in his golden years, Henry finally has what he always deserved—a family who won’t leave. 🐾💛
Tourists, #DontBuyATicket 🎟️.
Tourists should avoid animal attractions because they fund systemic cruelty. Behind the scenes, these venues often use abuse, starvation, and isolation to force wild animals into unnatural behaviors.
Participating directly finances the illegal wildlife trade and supports industries prioritizing profit over animal welfare.
Trophy hunters put the CON in conservation!!!! 😡
'We always respect the life of the animal we take'....
And this is showing respect 👇?
Ban Trophy Hunting NOW!!!!

What a heartless person 😡.
Michelle Moran, 63, of Bebington, Wirral, has been banned from keeping animals for life after throwing her Jack Russell terrier Gypsy into a boating lake at Gautby Road in Birkenhead to drown.
Moran claimed she believed Gypsy had cancer and tumours and could not afford veterinary euthanasia, but none of her alleged conditions were confirmed by any veterinary diagnosis.
Gypsy's body was recovered from the lake by a member of the public on September 29 last year.
When examined, the dog weighed just 3.7 kilograms and scored two out of nine on a body condition score, indicating severe malnourishment. Her mouth and nose were bloodied.
Veterinary evidence confirmed the surrounding concrete wall would have made it almost impossible for a small or weakened dog to escape the water.
Moran pleaded guilty to two offences under the Animal Welfare Act and received a 17-week suspended sentence, a lifetime animal ban, a curfew, and rehabilitation requirements.
The RSPCA described Gypsy's death as horrendous and called Moran's actions extremely callous.
RIP Gypsy 🌈 💔😢.
This is an image from @I_W_M of British Commandos on a landing craft approaching Sword Beach on D-Day, 6th June 1944. 82 years ago today.
War is a horrific thing; these men left their loved ones to enter its hellish cauldron. Some never returned. We remember their immense bravery and sacrifices to defeat fascism so that they should never be necessary again.
Today, they hanged him in Iran for protesting.❤️
Now you understand why I showed a graphic image of a hanged man in front of 2,000 people in Washington DC.
If that image was too sensitive for people in the West، this is Iran's daily reality. 4 to 5 people hanged. Every. Single. Day. By the same regime that Western governments are rushing to negotiate with.
Right after my speech, this man was hanged.
Fathollah Avari was arrested in Hamedan during Iran's nationwide uprising in January 2026. The Islamic Republic secretly executed him on Tuesday no last goodbye, no final visit with his family.
They charged him with "waging war against God" .
And yet some of you in the West are more worried about Islamophobia than about people being executed under the Islamic regime.
Ask me again why I hold up graphic images. 💔

Louisiana governor Laundry is in Greenland for his first time ever because he has been tasked with taking over the island.
He does not think they have cookies in Greenland and acts like a white man in Africa in the 1800's.
"Here savages. If I give you some glass pearls, you give me your country."
The existence of this man is not only an insult to the Greenlanders but an international crime against human intelligence. He is clearly a complete idiot, and I really dont know why we allow him to be in Greenland.
These two Iranian women were both shot in the eyes by the Islamic Republic for one simple “crime”: demanding freedom in the streets and refusing to hide their beautiful hair.
With the help of some German organization, we managed to help smuggle them out of Iran. Now they live in Germany.
Recently, I met Farideh first time, the woman in white, who lost both of her eyes after regime forces shot her in the face.
She told me she still believes she will see again.
I asked her softly, “Really?”
She smiled, a huge, beautiful smile and said:
“Yes. I believe I will get my eyes back.”
Then Kosar hugged her tightly and suddenly started crying.
Later, she told me why.
She said she felt guilty because she still has one eye left… while her friend lost both.
I cried too.
Imagine surviving bullets, exile, surgeries, pain… and still carrying guilt for seeing with one eye while your friend lives in darkness.
I wish I could do something bigger than just inviting them Europe to Europe, or giving them platform and telling their stories.
If technology ever makes that possible, I would give one of my own eyes to Farideh.
SICK BASTARD! 😡
The man who mercilessly beat a dog to death with an iron rod in Kocaeli İzmit in Turkey has been arrested after huge public anger.
“The gendarmerie was taking the suspect into custody. We saw the dog's dead body; it was shattered. A human being cannot treat an animal this way. Its entire body was broken, all its bones fractured; it was brutally killed through minutes of torture.” said a local.
No words are needed; her cry says it all. The little girl, who grew up with "her" bull, teaches us a lesson in humanity and empathy by desperately begging for this animal's life. "He didn't do anything, he just wants to go home."
“Apparently there are still people who get a kick out of killing things and taking the lives of others, which is something I find incomprehensible” ~ Sir David Attenborough.
#DavidAttenborough 💯.
