... inspects ongoing projects in Eket, Nsit Ubium

"I'm very interested in opening up rural communities because accessibility to markets, schools, and farms is very necessary for rapid economic growth of our people and our State.

*GOV. ENO'S 'UNOPPOSED' CRUISE TO SECOND TERM*
Governor Umo Eno's emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election has continued to reshape political conversations across Akwa Ibom State, not necessarily because opposition disappeared overnight, but because of the uncommon unity of purpose that defined the party's internal process.
What happened during yesterday's APC guber nomination process was not merely another of its governorship primaries. It was a historic consolidation of political interests within a ruling political structure - a development that has now positioned Governor Umo Eno as the first governorship candidate to emerge unopposed under the APC as the ruling political party in Akwa Ibom State.
That distinction is important.
A historical review of primaries under the then ACN, which metamorphosed alongside other coalitions into the APC, reveals that the situation was always fiercely turbulent. Governorship primaries were often accompanied by disputes, litigation, factional disagreements, and parallel fronts struggling for control of the party structure.
Against that background, yesterday's primary election stands out as a major political turning point for Akwa Ibom APC has it continues to make historic footprints since welcoming the Governor into the party.
Governor Eno's nomination was not built on suppression of opposition but on the strength of consensus, alignment, and broad-based acceptance across party stakeholders. In any consensus, the real strength is not the absence of opposition but the ability to build collective agreement around a shared direction. That was exactly what played out.
Long before the formal primary process commenced, the political atmosphere had already revealed a growing convergence around the governor's leadership, performance, and continuity of his Arise Agenda. The overwhelming support he enjoys across critical political blocs gradually transformed the process from a potential contest into a unified movement.
His strategic political realignment of the APC further strengthened that momentum as it accelerated the integration of interests, structures, and stakeholders around a common objective.
Today, the governor earns the support of an unusually broad coalition cutting across party lines, interest groups, political leaders, and grassroots structures - a level of political consolidation that is certain to iterate similar overwhelming victory for him in the general elections.
More importantly, with few days left before the deadline set by INEC for party primaries, no opposition party has yet demonstrated the significant cohesion, structural efficacy, or strategic readiness required to weigh in on challenging the governor's growing 'Political Favours' ahead of the 2027 election.
This does not suggest the absence of democracy but rather reflects the current political reality in the State - a reality where peace, unity, continuity, stability, and consensus-building are increasingly being prioritised and gaining organic solidarity from the masses.
With close observation, the developing atmosphere suggests that Governor Umo Eno is not merely preparing for another election; he is also steadily cruising into a second term 'unopposed' on the strength of unified structures, acceptance, and support of the people of Akwa Ibom State across established political divides.
As the 2027 political horizon continues to come into focus, one thing already appears clear: Governor Umo Eno has successfully engineered one of the most peaceful and broadly accepted electoral eras witnessed from the leader of any ruling party in Akwa Ibom.
His cruise to a second term is indeed steady, with yet another unbroken streak to be made as a resounding victory remains sure, come February 2027.

2027 GUBER: GOV ENO SUBMITS APC NOMINATION FORM
...says party faithful should support aspiration
Ahead of the 2027 governorship election, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has submitted his nomination form for the primaries of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) with a call on party faithful to support his aspiration.
Speaking with Government House Correspondents at the Victor Attah International Airport upon his return from Abuja, where he submitted the form, the Governor said his aspiration is premised on the need to consolidate and further on the numerous ongoing projects in the State.
He noted that the State, under his administration, has recorded several developmental milestones anchored on the ARISE Agenda, adding that some of the projects cannot be completed within the remaining part of the current administration.
The Governor noted that as the visioner of the projects, it would be more beneficial to the State for the projects to be executed as envisioned by the visioner.
"We will continue to pray, trust in God, and remain committed to serving our people. But you can see clearly that there is still so much work on ground. Many of the projects we have started will not be fully completed within this term.
“That is why we are asking for another mandate to drive home these initiatives and consolidate on the progress already made for the benefit of our people,” he added.
The Governor appreciated the citizenry for their unwavering support for him in the last three years, and expressed hope that such will be sustained in the remaining one year of the first term and in the second term.
