@HauntedWishes — themselves [I leaned back against the counter, my hands wrapping around the ledge at waist height] I ask, because as any artist, the only judge of our work, is ourselves, and if you can’t happily critique yourself, then you’re not going to get far
@HauntedWishes — stranger to me, she begged for a position, and she wasn’t just going to get my trust and loyalty because she did one tattoo here] I need someone I can trust, have trust and confidence in themselves and someone who isn’t going to get pissy because I’ve asked them to critique —
@HauntedWishes — and you doubted yourself trying to be better] Is there anything you think you could have done better? Critique yourself for me, tell me what you could have done better, what you thought was your best part
@HauntedWishes — and folding my arms across my chest at her question, like she was fishing for compliments, she wasn’t going to get them here to be fair, no artist ever thought another was better than them, or else it would knock your confidence and that’s when mistakes happened —
@HauntedWishes — would you recommend Carmen to someone else? [I winced when she squealed and said she would, I gave Carmen an approving nod and sat back down, so she could continue wrapping the girl up. It was one tattoo, she still had a long road to go, but I was happy with her work]
@HauntedWishes — the girl nearly bounced right into me and I moved my hands to hold her shoulders to prevent it. She was all but squealing at me, and showed off the tattoo, I gave it a look over and was really impressed with Carmens work] Looks good to me, glad you’re happy with it —
@HauntedWishes — would go or look right, I refused to do it or came up with an alternative, I wasn’t in this for the money, I had money, I was in this because I enjoyed it, so I had a lot of space and wiggle room to send people away if they wanted something cheap and tacky]
@HauntedWishes — doing before going back to my sketch, roses and skulls were like the base line for all tattoos, everyone wanted at least something surrounded that at one point or another, I didn’t care what people got, but I wouldn’t just tattoo anything or anywhere. If I didn’t think it —
