Finished up part 1 of My Dictator Boyfriend and Muted for the podcast so we're taking a break this week with a couple Canvas stories. And bonus: I'm starting my reading before midnight! (A whole hour before midnight, but whatever. It counts.)

What did I do this week instead of my podcast reading/notes? Read 300,000+ words of a BDSM-AU Avengers fanfic. It was amazing, I don't regret it, and I miss it now that I've finished it. Now recording is tomorrow so... notes time. #FormerHonorsStudent 😅

For the overall arc for these eps, though, I love how much venting Cammie got to do. There was a LOT that she just needed to unleash so she could even start to heal herself, and I'm glad she did some of that in these eps.

Muted, Eps 26-30: The split between Avaline and Cammie is KILLING ME. I loved their relationship so much, and to see it disintegrating, especially driven as it is by a toxic parental figure, is heartbreaking.

I'm getting the sense the story is almost setting up for it to be an eventual power struggle between the two of them. Hoping I'm wrong about that, but that's just what I'm seeing right now, especially with Athalie with her claws in Avaline.

I like PERSONAL stories, people relating to each other directly. Once it turns into "This gov't hates that one because reasons and now war plus spies." it honestly all becomes a lot of blah, blah, blah to me. So... we'll see how this goes.

My Dictator Boyfriend, Eps 36-40: I have so many wild theories running around in my head for how these characters connect and intertwine, it's honestly wild. Like, beyond the obvious relationships, there's clearly a lot more interweaving as well.

The political intrigue stuff is... tricky for me. Not because I have trouble keeping up with it or anything, but I just get kinda... bored? with it after a while. Maybe bored's the right word, I think...
