The EU’s highest court has ruled that VPNs are legal tools, and VPN companies cannot be blamed simply because users employ them to bypass geo-blocks.

The ruling stems from a copyright case involving Anne Frank’s writings.
A Belgian website published some of her manuscripts online but blocked visitors from the Netherlands, where parts of the work remain protected by copyright until 2037.

Anne Frank’s rights holders argued the site was still breaking the law because users could bypass the block with a VPN.
The court disagreed and ruled that a website using effective geo-blocking cannot be held responsible if some users circumvent it with a VPN.

The judges also affirmed that VPNs are legitimate privacy tools.

Yoko Taro, the creator of NieR: Automata, says he’s genuinely sad to see physical games disappearing.

After PlayStation announced it will stop making physical discs for new games from 2028, Yoko said he believes it’s just the direction the industry is heading.

He admitted he thought physical games would survive as premium collector’s editions, even if digital became the main way people bought games.

“Personally, I’m saddened by the loss of physical media, but that’s just the way things are going.”

Rudeus starts as a deeply broken person carrying trauma from his previous life. The actual story is about him growing and becoming a better person in his second life. Reducing the whole thing to “50-year-old groomer” completely misses that.
