I'll try to explain it, but it's quite technical. Basically, in the first few days, if the CTR maintains 4% (or more) with an AVD greater than 4 minutes for new viewers, it will continue to push the video to a wider audience. Once the CTR drops below 4% and the AVD falls below 4 minutes (or the TAM is reached, of course), the video is no longer pushed. But I can't confirm this for well-known YouTubers as I haven't yet had the chance to work with any of them and see their metrics, maybe they need to focus on the causual viewers metrics

Even though 72% of viewers are still watching at the 0:30 mark (which is solid), that initial plunge is significant.

Here’s the answer.

This retention dip happens exactly at the sponsored segment (in this case, the Ultra Premium Direct partnership).

Tip: Always add a timestamp in your video description so viewers can jump straight past the sponsor if they want, this will help maintain video retention.
