Meeting Jesus on psychedelics? βοΈππ€―
NEW study: what happened when researchers gave psilocybin to (mostly) poor Black Christians in the South struggling with cocaine addiction?
Many described profound encounters with Jesus β as psychedelics tend to provide mystical experiences, sometimes amplifying pre-existing religious beliefs.
The studyβs outcomes were incredible:
Participants had biologically confirmed abstinence rates approaching 100% at 6 months β an astonishing result.

Johns Hopkins ran a trial comparing psilocybin-assisted therapy directly to nicotine patches for smoking cessation.
At six months, 40.5 percent of the psilocybin group had quit. Only 10 percent of the nicotine patch group had quit.
That's more than six times the odds of long-term abstinence.
And the treatment was a single intervention, not months of daily use.
Oregon's psilocybin service centers have served roughly 16,000 clients since launching in 2023.
Colorado now has 34 licensed healing centers up and running.
New Mexico is prepping a program for 2027.
This is not a fringe experiment anymore.
This is a quietly expanding reality, and almost nobody is covering it as such.
Until us!
Psilocybin was isolated from mushrooms by a Swiss chemist named Albert Hofmann in the late 1950s.
Sandoz briefly sold it under the brand name Indocybin for psychiatric use.
Then the cultural backlash to the 1960s swept everything into Schedule I in 1970.
We just happened to get the backlash version of the history rather than the medical one.
We have spent 55 years living in that gap.
