When it comes to white, it depends on the base coat, what make the white paint is, what type of white paint, and how thin the layers are.
I have painted white on black, but it can take a while. Best to start with a cold grey base coat and work up from there.
Lots of things layers. Don't use water to thin the paint as it can separate the pigment from the paint's medium.
I use Water+ and Pure White from @InstarPaint. Water+ is great medium which doesn't separate the paint, and Pure White is a great acrylic for painting onto any colour.
I used it here on Amuro's Pilot Suit from the 1/60 PGU.
Coming soon to the Play Store!! It's still in Beta, so it will be free! Ian needs feedback on everything, UI, likes, dislikes, useability, everything!!
Develop color schemes, create mixing formulas, scan pictures in for color picking and more!😎

PRISM from @InstarPaint is shaping up to be a useful tool for developing color schemes for wargames minis, DnD, etc. It not only gives you the complementary colors, but tells you how to mix them!😎😎

Tried a Contrast-Style experiment this weekend with PRISM: mixed highly saturated, low-luminosity mixes and thinned equally with Water+. On a white undercoat, the base dried closer to the highlight. Not a failure, just a new direction 🤘

Since I can’t paint much at the moment to showcase PRISM due to trapping a nerve, I’ve made a couple of QOL upgrades to the Scheme Editor
PRISM is available to download for FREE and utilises Citadel

@Sarahgozzo This much is true, you’re in my insta too (probably buried in the many likes you get 😂😂🤪) so will keep an eye out!
Norwich gig scene is drying up a little bit 🏜️
After a small, yet important update in how the colours are calculated, PRISM can now enter the final@stages before being released as a BETA version.
Stayed tuned for further updates
Oh and the official discord server is taking shape 🤘

@EdWizardhands@stahly_top@ageofsquidmar In which case then it sounds like they’ve used a different pigment manufacturer. While the pigment codes may be the same, the actual product can act very differently.
The usual reason why you don’t change, but they must have their reasons….
