This is what football/soccer was like just 6 years ago:

- 3 substitutions
- Continuous 45-minute half with stoppage time
- Referees actually made decisions and we lived with them
- No Conference League
- The World Cup was 32 teams
- No risk of private equity buying stakes in the World Cup

Innovation disguised as progress is often just a synonym for “this will make us more money.”

Sometimes tradition is good. The game was the most popular in the world BEFORE all this garbage.

@WeeAlickie1 @HLTCO Yep. Furthermore, teams can be “relocated” - they aren’t grass-roots developments like football teams in Europe, they’re owned by investors and if they aren’t making enough money from a certain population, they’ll relocate the team to a city where they can make more money.
