A new thematic issue of Belgrade Philosophical Annual (38/1, 2025) has been published, entitled "Darwin and Darwinisms". 🐢
This issue is dedicated to Charles Darwin and various interpretations of Darwinism, ranging from questions of reductionism and holism, through systems biology and phenotypic plasticity, to the relationship between Darwinism and quantum mechanics. ✨
It brings together international contributors and opens contemporary debates on evolution, complexity, and contingency in scientific thought. 🦋
What is particularly noteworthy is that Darwin’s theory is treated not only historically but also as a living theoretical framework around which interdisciplinary dialogues between philosophy, biology, and physics continue to evolve, offering philosophy of science in its most rigorous and contemporary form. 🦉

Vidimo se u junu! 🌞🦉
Our Višnja Knežević recently delivered a series of talks at the Department of Philosophy and History of Science at Charles University in Prague.
The visit brought inspiring academic discussions and exchanges with colleagues from the Department of Philosophy and History of Science, the Institute for the Preservation of Medical Traditions, and the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It also provided a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Prague while further strengthening international cooperation.
We are delighted to see our Institute represented through such meaningful scholarly engagement and warm collegial connections. 📷📷📷

📜 Our dear Bogdana Stamenković Jajčević has published a new paper @HPLSjournal
The paper revisits the largely neglected theory of Vladimir I. Vernadsky, highlighting his insights into living matter, its interaction with inert matter and the evolution of life through biogeochemical cycles, work later acknowledged by James Lovelock as a precursor to Gaia theory.
