All our spiritual practices should have this goal: to keep the mind calm and clean and to not to allow it to become disturbed or cloudy. It is for this reason that we selflessly serve and devote our lives for the benefit of others. That is Yoga.
It is written in the Upanishads, “Aham Brahmasmi, Tat Twam Asi, which means, “You are that absolute God, Thou Art That.” With a clean, calm mind not only will you recognize your true nature, you will also be able recognize the same nature in others as well.
If you have not mastered your mind and your mind acts as an enemy to you, you will also see others as enemies and not as friends. You are your best friend and you are your worst enemy. ~Swami Satchidananda
You think you're the body and the mind. Take care of them. Keep them clean, pure & serene. That's what we do in the name of all the Yoga practices because without your physical cleanliness and mental health you cannot serve others.
In Sanskrit God is defined as satyam, sivam & sundaram. What is, is God–always. That means God in everything. The "is" exists even before the flower. It becomes the flower. It is a flower. The "is"—or the existence—is what you call Truth.

Several thousand years ago, Sri Patanjali taught that a calm mind is like a mirror. If you keep your mind pure, clean, and calm, you will see yourself in that mirror-like mind, as the image of God.
The real goal of Yoga is to understand oneself by making the mind clean and calm. Yoga is not just a set of physical postures, meditation, and breathing techniques. Yoga helps us to develop mental purity and serenity, which are both necessary to understand oneself.
