TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA: Everyone wants to play with the slasher genre in a new way, few people pull it off. Like all Schoenbrun, truly a unique experience that I can't wait to sink back into. I'm so happy I made it into that premiere!
Nice to see the talented, beautiful Samara Weaving with a good script - after a rough 2025 - in the entertaining "Carolina Caroline" at the Sarasota Film Festival. Weaving & Kyle Gallner shined and director Adam Carter Behmeier made his third straight excellent film @IntercutPod
Matt Johnson on those black & white flashbacks in Nirvanna the Band the Show and how editors Curt Lobb & Robert Upchurch found a way to turn rejected takes into integral character moments
Everything is on the table. THE INVITE, a hilariously unpredictable new comedy directed by and starring Olivia Wilde, with Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton. In theaters this July.
there’s a lot to say about this movie but not enough is being said about the editing of The Drama, which is able to gracefully communicate the anxiety that its characters are experiencing while never breaking the film’s forward momentum. beautiful stuff.
I'm seeing a lot of "it was the scenes around it" comments but this movie had a strangle hold on the school yard, we loved this shit start to finish, I STILL love this shit
a bit disappointed in the ways that Lord & Miller simplified and streamlined Project Hail Mary from the book, making it less about a hunger for knowledge beyond our scope and the scientific struggle to survive, and more about a cool guy who gets to meet a cute, funny alien.
