People wanting to watch them has nothing to do with it. Do you know how RSNs work? They get included into a markets cable package whether the customer wants it or not. Every customer, in that market will pay $15-$20 extra month for that RSN being in the basic package. Even if only 10% of the customers even watch that RSN. It’s basically free money for the team and cable provider.

@gbb70 Any other team having that much salary in underperforming players would be struggling. For example, NYM. But, LAD have 300+ million more in payroll for players like Othani, Yamamoto, Freemen, Betts, etc to keep them relevant.
