Even adding in leader numbers we don’t think that we would have breached 1,000 sadly — but, as a Unit, we did manage 737 Explorer nights away this year which isn’t too bad!
🔥 Plast members - Ukrainian scouts have received the Bethlehem Fire from @ZHP_PL on 14th of December. That is a symbol of unity and friendship between our organizations and countries!
In the video, you can hear the traditional Plast song about the Bethlehem Fire 🎶
One of our programmes on the current 3-way base is stop motion on the theme of conflict. It was the turn of the year 9s & 10s tonight. #SkillsForLife
This is the “Moody Teenagers” completing the Six Dales walk last week — 68km and 1,250m of height gain in 12 hours 33 minutes. It's a top effort by them, and they feel suitably pleased with themselves! Check out https://t.co/mpGQ6kaLza for more details of this fantastic event.
@matthyde @2023wsjkorea@UKContingent Thank you to all the team managing a difficult situation out there. We have some leaders and Explorers there and it’s been hard work — but they’ve also had an amazing adventure! They’re hot and tired, but have been having some great experiences as well.
We’ve seen the light! We’ve just replaced all of the fluorescent tubes in the Main Hall with led tubes, which will reduce our carbon footprint during the winter months. Every little helps, as a supermarket once pointed out… :)
A busy w/end! Race the Sun saw the winning team cover 55km / 1.5km of height gain in the Shropshire Hills. Some of our leaders won @DragnetCumbria with @BlytheNetwork. 2 of our Explorers were on their last prep. camp for the WSJ. And there was cycle training for London to Paris!
It’s been a great first day of our “Coronation Camp” welcoming over 400 @scouts from across the UK and the Commonwealth, many of whom will be providing stewarding support to the public and guests at the Coronation on Saturday.
An evening of two programmes. Team Edinburgh were at Red Point climbing, and the other teams were at the Explorer Hut refining their culinary creations!
Silver Qualifying Expeditions in the Peak District done!
Well done to the teams for a top job, and well done to the Blue team in particular for their cartwheel with a rucksack on efforts. Though a little more practice may be required…. :)
Non-Sixth Formers turn to visit the Shri Venkateswara Temple — again, a really interesting evening!
(Sixth Formers were on a Scavenger Hut based out of the Explorer Hut, having visited the Temple a few weeks ago).
