I really hope we see a D3. From my perspective it made sense to pivot to its development after Lightfall and wrap D2 after final shape. But I am not Bungie leadership and can’t pretend to know why choices were made.

The stark truth though, is if D3 truly wasn’t in dev at all and they announced intent to make it tomorrow, it would be at soonest 4-5 years before a launch. The level of systems/engine/progression/structure reworks and building that would need to be done to make D3 the successor it would need to be in the CURRENT gaming landscape would IMO be staggering (and worthwhile)

This is @samikatplays. Who was so, so incredibly brave last year to come out to GCX.

She only made it because of the kindness of a community who made sure she got there. She only stayed all the way through because once she did - everyone made her feel like family.

"Why is so everyone so upset about Destiny?"
Because it's not "just a video game". It may have started that way once every brilliant developer and voice actor poured their heart and soul into it. But then they handed it to all of us. Once that happened, that transaction became more than monetary. It became home. It became the conduit through which people find THEIR people and their place.

It hurts because those are two things people never want to part with willingly. But something you learn in life that you carry those people with you, every kindness given, every memory made.

We hope there will be a #Destiny3. Who wouldn't want that? In the meanwhile and at the very least - this right here. What you did for one person...that is the epitome of bringing the light.

She can't join us this year (we asked) but she'll always have a home. And for anyone who struggles to leave home, to take a leap of faith or maybe deals with anxiety, or private pains - we're honored to welcome back @GuardiansMH who are planning something special this year as a quiet little respite from the busy floor. Seek them out. They'll be there for you. 💝
