Thank you to the organisers for facilitating such huge learning, to the speakers for sharing their expertise and to the attendees for their engagement and creating excellent conversations #Resus25
That’s it for this year, it’s been a fascinating two days with masses of learning to take away. A huge thank you to @zollemsfire for their sponsorship and to @RCPath for hosting us so brilliantly #Resus25
Key lessons summarised nicely by this slide. Something that has struck us with this talk and across the last two days is that medicine can do incredible things, but we must stay driven to look for ways to continue to improve #Resus25
Still reflecting on a practice-changing talk yesterday by Frank Chege with patients and family members who were attended to by @LDNairamb after attempting to take their own lives. A stark reminder to keep humanity in medicine. Every patient matters #Resus25
@juleslockett06 presented a moving cardiac arrest case. All call handlers have is their voice. It can feel a void is left once the call is ended with no follow up. Consider the journey your patients have already been through and the journey they’ll go on after #Resus25
NETs are release in response to inflammation but can cause problems if they persist. Technology that removes these has been shown to have huge benefit in the research so far. Sepsis and patients who have received eCPR are examples of cohorts that may benefit from this #Resus25
An excellent initiative by @EHAAT_ going into schools and creating “CPR champions” - teachers and sixth formers who are trained to educate their peers on CPR and AED use. A scheme that will undoubtedly save lives #Resus25
Our post-lunch talk is from Adam Carr. The two things we know produce survivors with good neurological outcomes are early high quality CPR and defibrillation. This talk looks at creating CPR smart schools and CPR champions #Resus25
Get the basics right and get on with what needs to be done. Oxygen, keeping a child warm and comforted can go a long way. Antibiotics and prostin are usually a good idea when confronted with congenital heart disease #Resus25
It’s a privilege to hear about such specialist topics and learn from the best, allowing us to improve the care we provide for our patients. Dr Emma Stockton speaking on peri-arrest events in children with congenital heart disease #Resus25
The area of maximal compression during CPR is in the wrong place 50% of the time. We can use POCUS to optimise positioning and perform pathophysiological assessment to nuance our resuscitations #Resus25
As resuscitation looks to become more precision-based, @PBSherren is speaking on how we can use echocardiography to optimise, diagnose and prognosticate during cardiac arrest #Resus25
Survival from refractory cardiac arrest has gone from 5% to 33% with a scene to flow time of 17 minutes. Important to ensure expertise for HALO procedures through governance and system-wide engagement so every patient that can survive is given the opportunity to do so #Resus25
Continuing one of the themes from yesterday, Dr Natalie Kruit is joining from Sydney to speak on their eCPR programme and the provisional experience from the PreCare trial #Resus25
Good morning! We’re back for day 2 of the Resuscitation Science Symposium 2025 sponsored by @zollemsfire. @BairdKat is kicking us off with some reflections on the excellent talks yesterday, with many more to follow today.

That’s it for today folks, thanks for following online. We’ll be back tomorrow and are set for another excellent day with more on eCPR, dispatch and thoracotaboalaparotoecmo. Join the conversation using the hashtag #Resus25
Massive thanks again to our sponsors @zollemsfire
eCPR is now the standard of care in Paris when ALS fails. The key is to select the right patients, within the right timeframe along with good governance and training in collaboration with frontline ambulance clinicians. Lots of research still ongoing in this area #Resus25
The final talk for today is from Dr Alice Hutin sharing what lessons have been learnt after a decade of delivering eCPR prehospitally in Paris #Resus25
