Excited to share a new preprint from part of my thesis work! Here we demonstrated highly efficient reprogramming of glia into neurons by inhibiting Rbpj-mediated Notch signaling and NFI in adult mouse retina. Deeply grateful to @ThanhHoang_ and @SethBlackshaw for their guidance.
Returned from an incredible 2 weeks at the inaugural @biologyofaging course at @MBLScience. It's hard to explain how invigorating spending time immersed in experiments, interactions, and lectures can be. Thanks to the directors for their vision!
Latest pre-print from the Twitterless Fischer Lab! Here we dig into why microglia are so important for formation and proliferation of Muller glia-derived progenitors in the chick retina https://t.co/XgtV9Zpnzv
We are currently seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our team. The position is fully funded, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in the fields of neurodegeneration or neurodevelopment.

Our newest endeavor to regenerate neurons from glia is out now @ScienceAdvances. In this paper we try and coax Muller glia to regenerate retinal ganglion cells (Brief overview below)

Patterns of NFkB activation resulting from damage, reactive microglia, cytokines, and growth factors in the mouse retina https://t.co/FLLqRXqXTh #biorxiv_neursci
Our latest pre-print is out! We find NFkB signaling suppresses neurogenic reprogramming of Müller glia. Shout out to our great collaborators @Levi_J_Todd@ThanhHoang_@ThomasReh4@SethBlackshaw https://t.co/KfniYwWNyr
In our work out in @Cellreports we have made significant strides in regenerating neurons from glia. We find the combination of Ascl1 with Atoh-transcription factors significantly improves the ability of Muller glia to regenerate neurons. https://t.co/meeBYDpAJo Quick summary:
