Yesterday I went to my first World Cup game to watch the USA vs Paraguay. It is a bucket list item that I have always wanted to do and now I have done it.
Being live at the World Cup game was a bizarre experience as an American. It felt like being in a twilight zone where time and statistics do not matter. Despite an incredible amount of signage, there were no clocks or timers anywhere on display inside the L.A. stadium (not Sofi because @FIFA leased back the naming rights, or somthing like that). The only way to know the time left in the half was the screen showing the live broadcast far above the game. None of the side signage showed anything except a rolling FIFA banner and never at any point in the game was the time or statistics of the game shown on the screen or on the sides. As an American that is a bizarre experience.
American pro sport fans live for statistics. It is how we judge our players and team performances, but at FIFA world cup games, it isn't shown.
Don't get me wrong! The stadium was electric! The fans energizing the players and the players responded by playing the best soccer of a US Men's team in my lifetime. It was one of the best live sporting events I have ever been to, but it was distinctly a FIFA event in an American stadium.
Go @USMNT ! Don't let the Aussie be a trap game! You can not look past them to Turkey! Great show yesterday. Keep up the good work!

@paulg Shipping new stuff fast that infringes on another person's IP should be a speed bump in that prediction process.
Shipping fast and not acknowledging the use of another person's IP isn't success; it is unethical.

I do not disagree. It has been a bipartisan effort to make corporations more wealthy at the expense of the huge portions of the middle class.
But the Big Tech trillionaire companies didn't exist when Reagan was President. Big Tech came of age during Obama's presidency and they were given all the space to grow into the Oligarchy the US is currently is throttled under.

Inventors are one of the most important professions in society. They should be protected, revered, and promoted. Over the last 20 years, however, they have been shunned, dismissed, belittled, and canceled.
The recent reversals aimed at improving inventor status among Technology experts have been difficult. The inventors absolutely need saving before they all quit!
