You can train officers on tactics and scenarios all day long, but I cannot train bravery or courage. THIS, this right here…is bravery and courage. We need officers to be both guardian and warrior. Officer Cronin epitomized both yesterday. He made @dallaspd @CityOfDallas proud.

[Irving Police Dept. @IrvingPD]

Join us this Thursday (5 PM-9 PM) for dinner @texasroadhouse for the statewide #TipACop benefitting @SOTexas. We will volunteer to ensure customers have hot bread & full glasses; all tips will go to Special Olympics. Hope to see you there, & we’ll also have LETR shirts & coins.

The Irving Police Department has several chaplains volunteering their time for our department. Tonight, Chaplain Burton is riding out with Officer Kotlik. Our Chaplains regularly interact with our officers so that they have first-hand knowledge of the work our officers do daily.

In emergencies it's important to be aware of your surroundings. Next time your children are in the car point out street signs, landmarks, and businesses. If they ever need to call 9-1-1 they can describe what's around them to help us pinpoint their location. #ItsAllAboutLocation
