Claimed Dot needs to “defend his pen” cause “Squabble Up/TV Off” aren’t enough, like “Wacced Out Murals/Reincarnated/Man At The Garden” aren’t also on “GNX”. By their logic Drake/Cole pens are still in question as well w/ “Janice STFU/Shabang/The Let Out/The Villest“. Pod amnesia
🚨 Mallory Bros say Kendrick Lamar’s next album is the most important of his career
They argue Kendrick is facing more criticism than ever before, saying his next project will have to answer the growing expectations and scrutiny surrounding his catalog.
They also say Drake and J. Cole both put respect back on their names with their latest albums, making Kendrick’s next move even bigger.

“I think something missing from this convo is….”, & then proceeds to name all the things that were discussed at length in said conversation. I wish people would actually watch things in full form & not just allow clips/TL interpretation’s to inform their opinions.
Lupe one of my goats but I think something missing from this convo is that 'lyricism' shouldn't just be defined as bars & punchlines. Storytelling, concepts, evoking feeling, even concise & catchy hooks are examples of good songwriting and therefore, lyricism.
I was only born in 1990, but this is an opinion I agree with. That first listen can be impactful, but those listens years later reveal the truth. I HATED “Graduation” on first listen (not saying the music was bad), but I remember my main takeaway was “wait there’s no skits” 😂
Basically Savon took time off to make another podcast where the host takes social media clips & uses the captions to react to them in audio form. Nothing new/interesting happening here, but it’ll make the time go by at work. “You gotta be accurate in the ish you report” - Savon😂
West Coast Media Wants Control Of The Narrative?!
DJ Hed edits the record. Jeremy Hecht accuses Akademiks of being bought.

“As a Drake centered channel” I love what I’ve seen dude doin w/ breakdowns over the years. My issue only came when he said on a stream “I chose OVO because the other side is toxic (not a direct quote btw)”. It makes his takes land flat. Still tapped in.
If I ever became a billionaire I’m giving Wale whatever he needs to EP/write an album for a “pop” star. Wale has the ear needed to “produce” for people that aren’t him.
This was a time where it seemed (idk their hearts) artist cared more about being able to keep a roof over their heads using their art, than traditional “success”. S/O Stalley for his contributions as well. #JetLife 🤙🏾
I’m curious if any of the (white) YouTubers that I watch, that review this show will mention this book during their review this week. Never bothered to read the book, until “that” Chappelle joke & I agree Sam pulled from this for Alamo’s backstory.
Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes on Nicki Minaj’s support for Donald Trump:
“It seems that she wanted something from The Office and was trying to maybe help herself, a friend, a boyfriend, whatever. And was promised something and felt that it was worth the risk - the take - you know. If my best friend or someone in my family needed something and I had to go begging and grovelling to somebody to get it to happen, I probably would’ve made a bad judgement as well. Because sometimes when we’re thinking about loved ones or trying to get out of a situation, we’re not thinking clearly. So I’m not judging Nicki for what happened, what she did. I think she’s judging herself enough and she’s suffering by her own decision. I don’t think we need to go ahead and make her feel worse than she probably already does.”

I know we're all caught up in Drake's typhoon of music but this @NickGrantmusic "Smile" album is the goods. As always, he's rapping his face off. "Razor Ramon" with CyHi and Ransom is filthy work.
Asher Roth might have had one of the biggest songs of the blog era
and still ended up overlooked…
“I Love College” had the internet in a chokehold
but it got written out the story.
Nothing MJ did personally ever made me believe he wanted to be white. Through his music/music videos he let it be known he had a deep love for Africa/blackness ("Liberian Girl" is one of my fav songs by him).
