🇯🇵 Eleven Buddhist statues have been stolen from a temple in Yamagata City, Gifu Prefecture. Police are currently investigating the incident as a case of grand theft.

According to police, shortly after 7:00 AM yesterday, the chief priest of Tosenji Temple- located in the Takatomi area of Yamagata City- placed a 110 emergency call to report that the Buddhist statues kept in the main hall had been stolen.
