Nigeria now depends less on oil for money. Before, oil gave about 75% of govt income; now it’s about 25%. Taxes from other sectors now bring most of the money, about 87%. Non-oil taxes have grown fast, and total tax money has nearly tripled since 2022.
This is GROWTH!

With the recent war between Iran and Israel, if Nigeria did not have the Dangote Refinery, we might already be buying fuel at as much as ₦4,000 per litre. The impact of the refinery on our economy is immeasurable. May God reward Dangote for what he is doing for the country.
How can the PMS price fall?
More local refineries? No,
Dangote paying in Naira for oil? No
Rather
1. Stronger naira
2. More oil output
1. Stronger naira means Nigerians can afford $80 per barrel of Brent crude with even thet $0.27 minimum wage (N70,000 x 40 hrs)
2. More output means Nigeria can sell more oil and use the excess output above the OPEC quota to supply subsidised crude to the Dangote refinery at N100 a barrel. Yes, a subsidy.
3. In summary, if Naira does not rise, your PMS cost will not fall
4. The only way to get “cheap” PMS without a strong Naira is to subsidise the PMS by subsidy on $ or subsidy on crude to Dangote
Subsidy must return for this to happen
5. The problem is that subsidy is a cost, and the Federation can't afford a total subsidy. The federation are awful money managers
6. Solutions: we will talk about this soon; it involves bringing back subsidy payments, but at the pump, not the ports may be the refinery
7. Last point: it would have been worse without the Dangote refinery.
8. Thank you Dangote
