Today & each day, we acknowledge the achievements of women around the world. We're inspired by women who have survived war, lived through refugee camps & have picked themselves up to start over in a new country.

Over 3,000 people participated in the 2024 Run for Refugees on Feb. 11, and @IRISCT surpassed its fundraising goal by raising $168,547 to support services to welcome, house, feed, and uplift the migrant community.

Feb 24th marks 2 years of Russia’s invasion of #Ukraine, displacing nearly 7 million Ukrainians.

Nothing will replace homes lost & family left behind, yet, we often meet Ukrainians who are resilient & grateful to live in CT. Today & each day, we honor the struggle for freedom.

We're happy to partner w/ @NewHavenURI to plant thousands of trees in #nhv. Many refugees live in areas that do not have many #trees. As part of the program, #refugee youth can give back to the community, learn English & conduct outreach in different languages

What's happening in Sudan has been called "a forgotten war," but for Azhar, it's all too real. Azhar was resettled by IRIS in 2015, but her brother was recently kidnapped by a rebel group in #Sudan.
