Please join us in congratulating Dr. Alsakarneh and Dr. Elnaiem on their acceptance into the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education Clinician Educator Pathway! 🎉
This distinguished program fosters the development of future clinician educators through mentorship, peer collaboration, innovation, and scholarship. Participants advance their clinical teaching skills, enhance presentation abilities, design new curricula, and learn to effectively evaluate learners and programs.

If we wait until we feel fully accomplished before investing in others, we build cultures focused only on individual success. The best leaders I’ve met were still building their own careers while intentionally lifting others alongside them.
Experience deepens this mindset, but it doesn’t have to wait until late career. It starts the moment someone stops seeing other people’s success as competition.
For early career physicians, my advice is simple:
Do not wait until you feel fully secure or “successful enough” to mentor, support, advocate for, or open doors for others.
Leadership is not a title you arrive at one day. It is a habit you practice early.
And honestly, we are already seeing this shift happen. Some of the most collaborative, team-oriented, and generous leaders I know are still early in their careers.
They are building themselves while simultaneously helping others rise around them.
That mindset changes teams, cultures, and eventually entire institutions.
The #iWanglab met tonight to send these 4 wonderful docs to the next phase of their journey.
I am so proud of each of you for your grit + growth thru the year(s). There have been highs & lows but always laughs in between.
Thank you for trusting me to be part of your stories 🙏
Such an inspiring opportunity to learn about #DGBI from this expert panel at #DDW2026! Excited to bring these insights back to help care for my IBD and GI patients. An inspiring session reminding us to treat patients as a whole person, not just their disease 💙

🌟Happy National Nurses Week!🌟
This week — and every week — at Mayo Clinic, we recognize the thousands of nurses who show up each day for patients and families and keep empathy at the center of care.
Shania is one of the remarkable GI Nurses whose passion shines through in everything she does. The heartfelt teamwork, relentless pursuit of excellence, and collaborative spirit that always place the patient’s needs FIRST are just a glimpse of what makes each nurse so special and the difference they make in countless lives every single day.
Join us in honoring their extraordinary impact 💙
