@FadySalib11@AnnaGyorgy3 Definitely agree! I have always found it insane that we can just log in to our bank accounts through our phones and just see everything in real-time
All students and social media users should be aware of the digital code because it shapes what we see and what is present on different platforms #lesson13
I think that as long as students and social media users understand the possible repercussions of digital technology, it should be used for both person and classroom purposes
Being connected globally allows to share your thoughts on certain topics with others. This can also encourage them to follow the same mindset you have helping change the world. #lesson12
Social media is a great tool to use in order to spread awareness. The information displayed in this way has the ability to reach the right audience in a faster and more efficient way than can be done in person
I think it's important for top-down communication to be used in social media platforms because it allows for the control of expression. As mentioned in the lecture of #lesson12, some things are okay to joke about while others are not, especially publically
Sometimes I ask my friends if they want to watch a Disney movie with me and they refuse to!
I never really understood why and I always thought that Disney always portrayed an innocent movie with an happy ending.
They told me that they do not support those movies due to the plot.
After watching the Mickey Mouse Monopoly documentary, it made me realize how many important issues are covered with innocence in childhood movies #lesson11
One aspect of the documentary that stood out to me the most, is when it was explained that the projection of women's bodies hasn't changed throughout the years. It has always been portrayed in the same way which has participated in the sexualization of the female body
I think social media plays a huge role in feminism. Many people use it as a platform to spread awareness on women's rights and equality issues that we continue to face today
I find it so interesting that there are 3 different waves of feminism. I never thought about the fact that there were still conflicting aspects of this ideology for Arabic women and those of color #lesson10
@da_macmillan So weird! Once I was shopping with my cousin and I pointed out a bathing suit that I liked but I never explained the way it looked - I just said "that's a cute bathing suit". Later that day I got an ad for that exact one
I think you do not have any privacy when you have a social media account. Even what you say is recorded. It has happened to me countless times where I talk about a specific product, and then I will get an ad about it especially on Instagram. Anyone else?
