We got to hang out and interview Original Ironman Ian Emberson this weekend. Great guy. Still swims in the ocean every day and is one of the 1st few people to swim the Molokai channel (26 miles/35 with currents). Took him 17 hours in 1979. #triathlon #Triathlete #tri360

What’s a 2.4 mile swim? It’s hard to put into perspective. Here’s a rough shot of the swim from the original IM course in Waikiki. Imagine swimming from the hotel on the left (San Souci Beach) to the cluster of hotels (in center frame on the right). And that’s just the beginning!

Saddened to hear that Original Ironman Tom Knoll has passed away. A dedicated Marine and a humanitarian, he raised over one million dollars for charity in his lifetime. He was great guy and a big inspiration. They don't make them like that anymore. R.I.P.
