“Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind. A man should learn to detect and watch that gleam of light which flashes across his mind from within...”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
@MamaFedup Also happens in the US PNW on valid approved Motor vehicle use map roads. Scattered tree debris for 100s of yards down the road.
After some time without travel down the roads the forest swallows it up. End result no fire breaks or access to fight fire = total forest destruction
@AmericaPapaBear We need a federal bill that makes blocking or impeding traffic like this illegal. You have the freedom to protest, but damaging vehicles, threatening people inside and creating situations where people can get hurt or inadvertently be charged with something isn’t right.
@ktbarthedoors @LASHYBILLS Why do we keep perpetuating this idea that if someone old complains young people need to just yield and “show respect”? The world isn’t a 55+ community.
@JeffMerkley This type of speak rings hollow when delivered by politicians who have been in office while the decay they claim to want to fix took hold.
@CARN0N It’s an investment, portability and battery ownership issue. Company A buys battery, driver pays for charge, drives an hour then swaps at company B. Swapped battery then dies and won’t charge on company B. Low IQ take on the podcast.
@SussexHenryVIII@quakerscot Well educated, globally competitive and fully employed youth is precisely what funds social security to its maximum extent.
@ashleyschendel@theficouple So the group with the lowest overall debt burden and massive amounts of equity gets an out while the younger gens get to pay for the seniors share?
I mean isn’t it easier for someone with a paid off mortgage and no rent to afford property tax than someone that has that expense?
@JeffMerkley@WorkingFamilies Shame intel is leaving, that’s a lot of good paying jobs. Honest question, why do you think they left and what’s the solution?
@CascadePolicy More tax dollars are collected when tax policies are competitive and friendly to business. Hammer the businesses too hard and another state is going to collect on that revenue. Just look at intel… how much tax revenue is OR going to collect from intel after they move to AZ?
@CascadePolicy Biggest issue is that those setting the policies need to understand that business revenue and the tax it generates isn’t captive. Progressive tax policies that “tax the rich” and tax businesses at an excessive rate only cause a flight in the tax base. It’s a race to the bottom.
